Hello friends! I’m so glad you’re thinking about working together. I know that planning a photoshoot can feel overwhelming, so to streamline your process I wanted to share a helpful FAQ before you reach out. Let’s get into it!
How do I book with you? Contact me & we’ll get started. We’ll chat about the shoot & make sure our visions are aligned, set a date, & book! I’ll send a contract & invoice via email, due at booking.
What are your rates? All rates and packages are located here.
How do I pay you? All payments are due in full upon signing, or by the day of the shoot at the latest. Proofs will not be delivered if payment is not completed. I take all major forms of payment.
What should I wear to my shoot? Come with 1-5 outfits, depending on your package. A 1 hour session is great for 1-2 looks, while a 3 hour session can fit 4-5 looks. It all depends on the vibe of the shoot, & I’ll walk you through some style inspiration if you need it during preproduction.
Do I need to come hair & makeup ready? Yes. Touch ups are totally fine, but come at least 98% hair and makeup ready to shoot. You cannot get ready at my studio, as there are likely clients before you who need the space. If you have two looks that require a lengthy hair & makeup change in the middle of the session (over 15 minutes), that time will be billed at half of the session rate, or taken off your total hours for the day.
How will I get my photos? I send all photos via Dropbox. I keep them stored there for 1 year.
How long does it take to get my photos back? Within 7-10 days of our shoot ending, I’ll send a culled selection of unedited .jpgs for you to choose your favorites for me to edit. I know it’s exciting and hard not to share, but the unedited photos are for private viewing only. You can send me a list of your favorites, or you can simply leave a comment on them in Dropbox and I’ll see. As soon as I have your picks, I’ll get them done in 2 weeks or less. If you need a quick turnaround (within 48 hours), I am happy to hop on it! I’ve got a rush fee of $450 to put you at the top of my to-do list.
For the Social Sphere package, turnaround is typically 4-6 weeks.
Can I edit the photos? Not the coloring or overall style, but you can add text if you need to for album art, marketing, social media, etc.
Social Sphere clients have full editing permission.
Can I have extra edits? Of course! Extra edits are $35/each, or 10 for $200.
Is makeup/hair included? No, but I can recommend an excellent network of artists who do great work! Once we’re booked, ask me and I’ll send you a list of glam experts if you need help navigating your hair and makeup.
Is location included? Studio & outdoor locations are included. However, if you’d like to shoot at a cool spot like House of Adora or Paper House, you’ll want to reach out to them directly to book. You can find a ton of locations on Peerspace or Avvay, and I’m happy to recommend my favorites if you need a specific vibe!
Do you do retouching? Yes. My goal is always to bring out your natural beauty, so I edit out things like blemishes, mascara flakes, nose hair, etc. I do a soft retouch of everyone’s skin to keep it picture perfect, and I do slight teeth whitening if needed. I don’t do a ton of body modifications aside from subtly tucking in what needs to be tucked, but I do smooth out cellulite. If you are someone who prefers a zero-retouch approach, I’m happy to accommodate! Just let me know before we shoot. 🙂
How should I prep for the shoot? Try your outfits on and make sure you feel amazing in them well before the shoot. I’ve been in front of the camera before where I didn’t do that, and I highly regretted it. I’m always available to give you a second opinion if you need help! Make sure you get plenty of sleep, water & rest the night before. Try not to wear super tight clothing right before we shoot to avoid lines on your skin. If you don’t enjoy the sight of body hair, shave your underarms, get your upper lip waxed, pluck your eyebrows, etc. This also helps you get your edits back WAY faster, because there’s less for me to touch up in post. If you like having your nails and toes done, make an appointment for a day or two before we shoot. It never hurts to be as prepared as possible!
Can I bring someone with me? Yes!! It’s always fun to have an extra hand on deck, but make sure it’s not someone who’s going to micromanage the creative flow. There’s nothing worse than a clingy manager or headstrong friend that feels like they have to make every little suggestion that pops in their mind. That can TOTALLY kill the vibe, so make sure to bring people who are only gonna lift you up – NOT nitpick you. No photographer wants to shoot with someone over their shoulder either, and let me just say – the results turn out BETTER when we let the good, creative vibes flow. I can fix stray hairs, side rolls, makeup blunders, even wardrobe malfunctions in Photoshop…but what I cannot fix is your confidence plummeting because someone is in the room constantly bringing down the vibe. Make sure you bring your hype person, not your control freak person.
Can I take Behind-The-Scenes? Go for it!! 🙂 I love seeing good BTS so feel free to have a ball!
Do you do collabs? Not typically. If you’d like to collaborate with me, I just ask that you don’t expect me to do all of the work. There’s nothing more disheartening than being asked to “collab” & I have to come up with the idea, the wardrobe, the location, do the lighting, take the photos, cull the photos, edit the photos, everything… & the other person gets to have a fun day playing dress up and getting free photos. Not the best vibe for an already busy person. This is my job after all. I love it! But it is work. If you realllllyyyyy want to collab – come up with a cool concept, idea or fresh perspective, be willing to do half the work with me & I might be interested! 🙂
Do you do trades? Yes! If you are a photographer who wants to do a trade shoot for marketing material, or a service provider who has something I might be interested in, let’s chat! I am definitely open to trading with likeminded creatives, beauty professionals, spa owners, etc.
